Matt Winter was born and raised in Vardaman, Mississippi, where he grew up working on his family’s sweet potato farm and learned the value of hard work, discipline, and community. He graduated from Vardaman High School and went on to earn his degree from the University of Alabama, graduating Summa Cum Laude.

Matt began his professional career in public service as a Mississippi State Trooper from 1999 to 2003. He continued his commitment to service with a distinguished 22-year career in the Mississippi Army National Guard, serving on active duty and retiring at the rank of First Sergeant (1SG). His military tenure was marked by leadership excellence, mentorship, and operational success at every level.

Today, Matt brings the same integrity, discipline, and commitment to people into his civilian career and community involvement. Outside of work, he enjoys spending quality time with his family and playing golf.
